New Delhi, PTI. A big announcement has been made by Union Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding 5G. The statement assumes significance as several previous reports had predicted delays in the process of rolling out 5G networks in India. But things have become clear after the statement issued by Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. According to which the auction of 5G spectrum will be done within the stipulated time frame as per the schedule.
5G mobile service will be operational in the year 2022-23
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said this at a time when TRAI has postponed its recommendations to be given on 5G spectrum pricing and other issues by a few days. While addressing the second National Conference on Cybercrime Investigation and Digital Forensics, when asked whether the spectrum auction would be held as per schedule, he said, absolutely. He said that private telecom companies want to start 5G mobile services in 2022-23 itself and the auction of its spectrum will be conducted in the current year itself.
